Harry Houdini was the greatest escape artist of all time and was the first person to ever escape from a regulation strait-jacket. He attempted this escape for the first time in Nova Scotia in 1913. Houdini performed it while hanging upside down by his feet from a tall building. He used it as a publicity stunt and it guaranteed a full house at the theater. According to historians, Houdini’s personal record in escaping from a regulation strait-jacket was 3 minutes. After his death in 1926, other magicians and escape artists around the world have established other records.

Reynold Alexander prepared himself intensely for two years by training, dieting and exercising. Reynold will attempted the escape just like Houdini, hanging upside down at 50 feet above the ground but with a mayor difference: the rope was on fire. If Reynold had not escaped within 2 minutes, the rope would have burned thru and Reynold would have plunged to his death.
